Urgent Call to Action: Support Unlawfully Detained Protesters

Urgent Call to Action: Support Unlawfully Detained Protesters

07/10/2024

Some of our comrades who are unlawfully detained for fighting against galamsey's destructive grip on the country are appearing at the court today for their bail hearing. We need the support now more than ever. As our people face the judiciary for their bail application hearing, we require two crucial forms of solidarity from you, protestors: sureties and your presence.

To volunteer as a surety, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old

  • Possess a Ghana card

If you're willing to stand as a surety, please send a brief message containing your name and phone number to Ghfixthecountry or Edem Robby Abbeyquaye.

Venue: HIGH COURT COMPLEX, ACCRA

Time: 9:00 AM

Our duty today is to fill the courtroom with solidarity! Join us in showing support for our unlawfully detained friends. Unfortunately, many governments, including Ghana's, have used excessive force and repression to silence protesters. By showing up in court, we're not only supporting our comrades but also asserting our right to peaceful assembly.

Together, we rise! Let's show our detained comrades that we care.
